Cynthia Donnelly (627-6717)

Practices:  After school practices will begin the week of June 11th.  Regular daytime practice groups will be assigned & posted by June 22nd .  This practice schedule will begin June 25th.  Anyone who does not have really short hair is expected to wear a bathing cap to practice every day.

Meets: Our first meet will be Monday, June 25th. A schedule will be given out the first week of practice. During July, meets are Monday & Wednesday nights.  Swimmers are expected to arrive at the meet at least 10 minutes before warm-ups.  We would like to increase team spirit this year by having everyone wear either team attire or at least team colors (Red & Black or Red & White) to meets.

NOTE:  First year swimmers will not swim in a meet until coaches feel that they are ready.

All swimmers are expected to be available to swim Hub Lakes Championships on August 4th & 5th.

Swim Team Suits: We will have the same team suit as last year.  Team suits are preferred but are NOT mandatory (especially for new & younger swimmers).  Suits are available at California Beach Hut in Denville.  If you are unable to get a team suit, you should try to wear a red or black suit

Absences/Vacations: We realize that it is summer & people go away for vacations, weekends, etc.  We want everyone to have fun, however please let us know ahead of time.  Please write a note and send it with your child if you know of such absences in advance and indicate if he/she will be missing practices, meets, or both.

ALL SWIMMERS should be at the meet at least 10 minutes before the start of warm-ups unless they have told a coach otherwise.  If a swimmer is unable to attend a meet, a note should be given to a coach before the day of the meet (unless it is because of unexpected circumstances, sicknesss, etc).

The weekend of August 4th  & 5th  is HUB LAKES CHAMPI O NSHIPS .  This is our biggest team event of the summer & all swimmers should plan on attending.  (If you know in advance that you cannot attend due to a prior commitment, a coach needs to be informed as early in the season as possible but please try to make every possible effort to attend this meet).

INVITATIONALS

Invitationals are Saturday meets that are completely optional.  Anyone may participate and swimmers may choose what events they want to swim.  Heats of an event are arranged by seed time so you are swimming with people that are around your speed in your heat.  Unlike dual meets, there are awards given to the top swimmers in each event.  There is an entry fee per event for these meets which is due prior to the invitational day.  The due date & meet information are posted on the swim team board prior to the meet.
