Pre-School
Typical Day
Below is a schedule that your child will follow during
a typical day at school. Please remember that I am flexible,
depending on the needs of the class. There fore, times
and activities may vary somewhat from day to day.
| 9:00 - 9:10 |
Children arrive, put away belongings,
prepare for Circle |
| 9:10 - 9:30 |
Circle Time - This is a time to come together as
a class to discuss our Units of Study, learn and review
colors, shapes, numbers, etc. and to sing and recite
songs and fingerplays. |
| 9:30 - 9:45 |
Music & Movement - I try to encourage body awaremess
and self expression through music. We dance, march,
exercise or play instruments on a daily basis. |
| 9:45 - 10:30 |
Crafts/Free Play - Working in a small group, each
child completes a craft project. They experiment with
crayons, paints, glue, scissors and many other art
materials. The children who are not participating
in a craft are free to explore the many toys, blocks
and puzzles as well as having time for creative play
in the kitchen or at the easel. |

Snack |
| 10:45 - 11:00 |
Story Time - The class is introduced to many forms
of children's literature including fairy tales, nursery
rhymes, fiction and non-fiction books that relate
to seasons, holidays or our Units of Study. |
| 11:00 - 11:25 |
Outside (weather permitting) - The children enjoy
using our play area on a daily basis. They are encouraged
to use the sandbox, climb on equipment and ride Fisher
Price trikes. On inclements days, we play Group Games
or participate in science or language activities. |
